Dear Friends,
We greet you in the name of the Lord. During our recent trip to Arizona we had the opportunity to travel on several Indian reservations and visit communities bordering the reservations. Much of Indian reservations in northern Arizona are highland desert, the plant life is nearly all dead and many wells are dried up from five years of drought. The economic situation is very sad. In many Indian communities the unemployment rate is above 50%. The spiritual conditions are heartbreaking, with 70% of Navajos still going to Traditional Healers (Medicine Men) for medical treatment. Alcoholism in some areas is affecting 80% of the population.
Some of the Native Americans we came in contact with expressed the need for missionaries to come and work with their people but also expressed the lack of commitment because of the difficulty in reaching them. We also had the opportunity to pray with several individuals about their spiritual condition. Our goal is to start a permanent outreach in the Flagstaff, Arizona area.
Please pray for our efforts to accomplish the work God has laid on our hearts.
God bless you!
