Greetings to all of you in the name of the Lord! I wanted to send you all an update on our work here and things that are happening. First of all I would like to thank all of you for the many prayers that you have prayed and are praying for us and the work here in Taiwan. We are seeing prayers answered! Thank the Lord. We recently were visited by Bro. Charles Pahlman who came and preached for us on a Sunday night. The Holy Ghost fell in the service with such amazing power that I was slain out on the floor for a while. People wept and cried as God's power just fell over all of us there. Bro. William Hill and Sis. Hill from Iowa was also visiting Taiwan and we were all able to spend time in prayer and fellowship together. We had a wonderful prayer meeting at Sis. Linda Tobman's apartment together. Sis. Gloria Wilson is on furlough for 1 month after being here for 1year and1/2 without visiting home. Sis. Jennifer Dissmore was in Kaoushiung... a southern city here at the time so it ended up Sis. Jennifer Simpson and I were able to attend the prayer meeting as well as two of the other Holiness native ladies that work here, Sis. Sandra Tseng and Sis. Megan Wang. All of us there were alumni from Free Gospel Bible Istitute or affiliated with the school somehow. It was a nice little "reunion"! I recently attended a service in Taidong... a southeastern city in Taiwan with Bro. Greg Gao the young preacher who visited the states with me. I was asked to testify without a translator... but the Lord came by and really helped me. I watched in the morning service as elderly women knelt on their knees as they worshipped the Lord the Holy Ghost fell on many of them and they began to speak in tongues and weep. But that night's service was quite different, I watched as young people who have had no training turned on rock music and began to break dance on the platform. I was horrified. I told the preachers there, that God does not accept this. That opened the door for me. They wanted me to tell the youth why they could not use this kind of music to worship God. While there I was also invited to go and preach at and Island which is mostly native aborginals, the Island is called LanYu, Several miles from the mainland Island of Taiwan. After I returned to Taichung where our center mission is... the Lord laid on my heart to study and finally preach in Chinese. This past Sunday was the first time I had gotten up the nerve to finally attempt to preach a message in church in Chinese. The Lord helped me. There was only a few sentences that our translator had to help me with. Chinese is such a difficult language... but the Lord knows it also... so I know He can help us in this area. Recently due to schedule and finances I haven't been able to attend language school. I hope to be able to start again soon. This week I will be going to Taipei the captial city in the north of the Island to visit a new convert who is home for Chinese New Year Holiday. We have these new converts that really need prayer. It is one thing to feel the power of God and accept Jesus Christ, but then it is another thing when it comes to discipling them and keeping them saved. You pastor's know what I'm talking about. But here parents often force them to try to worship the idols even after they have made their committment to Jesus Christ. They face so many things here that we as American's usually never have to think about or even deal with. Such as eating things sacrificed to idols or eating pig's or chicken's blood. Or just their parents forcing them to take incense and worship their dead ancestors or and wooden god on the shelf in their home. But let me tell you the power of the Holy Ghost is strong enough to break every bondage that the devil could think up! AMEN! Chinese New Year just came and passed this past week. It is the largest celebration for the Chinese people. A time almost that can relate to our Christmas holiday. Every visit's family and gives red envelopes with money inside to the children. So for all of you... HAPPY CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR! For those of you who have a printer... maybe you can print off this newsletter and post it at your churches if you would. If it wouldn't be too much trouble you can send me a note to let me know what churches have received the letter already. It will save on postage for me to mail a regular mail newsletter from here in Taiwan. Thanks so much and God bless you all... Please keep us all in your prayers! I am still looking for someone to help out here if you are interested please contact me. In Christ's service.
