Hope for the Home Ministries
Missionaries to the American Indians

Dear Missions Friends,

Greetings in Jesus' wonderful name. How grateful we are to know that you are praying for us. We have certainly felt the need for, and evidence of, those fervent and faithful prayers. We just returned from missions work in Arizona and New Mexico.

We were holding services in Santa Rosa village, AZ near the O'Odham Boarding School on your way from Casa Grande to Sells. God really moved in the altar services. We held services in a very primitive chapel (dirt floor, plywood roof, 55 gal drum wood heater that put more smoke inside the room than out the stovepipe). But God's presence was powerfully evident as souls wept and prayed through to real experiences with God.

We also sang, testified, and played music at 2 wakes and 1 funeral service. As we knocked doors in San Lucy village (near Gila Bend), it was staggering to see the spiritual vacuum in so many lives. What a privilege to speak the simple Gospel, soul-liberating truth into their starved hearts.

Then we held a revival at the Papago A/G in Sells. Many souls prayed at the altar whom the pastor said had never made any significant move in that direction. He was uplifted that so many were helped, and were begging for us to stay or at least return very soon. They are precious people and bestowed upon us no little kindness.

We were invited to minister at a large Navajo church (about 100 people) in Prewitt, NM. I was terribly sick, and unable to attend either service on Sunday. But my wife and children carried on without me. They sang, testified, quoted Scriptures, and then our 14 year old Joseph coordinated a children-focused ministry which was well received. They told me that the Spirit was poured out in a wonderful way, and many people testified to receiving special help from the Lord. The pastor was refreshed and encouraged by the family's ministry, and also requested that we pray fervently for the Lord to provide God-called pastors who would love and feed the flocks on the reservation.

It is getting late, and I had better get some rest. May God bless you.
